Michel Gondry (director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep, and numerous music videos, etc.) spoke at the Apple store in Soho tonight and showed clips from his new movie, Be Kind, Rewind. Before he spoke, they showed a film about the making of music videos he made for Beck, Bjork, Foo Fighters and The White Stripes so that was pretty neat as well. It was crowded and hot as Haiti (that’s what the girl standing next to me described the temperature as) but it was eventful, nonetheless. He seems like an incredibly imaginative person…and I mean, I knew this after I watched his movies but hearing him speak kind of made it more true. He is neat.
No photos or cameras were allowed, but you can’t leave the Apple store without messing with Photobooth…
And again, on a rollercoaster:
Tomorrow is the 7th annual No Pants! Subway Ride. Meghan and I intend to keep our pants on, however, we do feel like we should document this so that’s probably what I’ll be doing tomorrow. It says to not bring cameras since there will be people taking photos of the “event”…but if we’re not participating I’m sure it’d be okay. Maybe. We’ll see. Meanwhile, here are photos and text from No Pants 2k7.
edit 01.13.08: We never made it to NoPants 2k8 because Meghan emailed and asked if we could take photos and their answer was no since they had specific photographers delegated to document it. Can’t say I’m too disappointed.

No pants on the subway? Yet another reason for Patrick to avoid New York all together.
Where do they think they are? A French beach?
Holy Crap!!! I’ve been on a Michel Gondry high the past couple of weeks – youtube-ing clips and music videos he’s done. I’m completely in love with his work! I just watched Eternal Sunshine again last night and watched the extra features for the first time, and I love him. He is freaking amazing. I’m so jealous. No really, you suck.
Patrick: don’t knock it ’til you’ve visited. also, I don’t know if you’ve clicked on the link but it’s organized by an improv group that do some other crazy things…it’s not a flash mob but on the same note, I bet you’d enjoy the zombie walk that they have every year. eh? zombies? eh?
Nguyen: yeah…he’s pretty freaking awesome. I’m not sure I ever watched the special features on that—it’s been a while. All of my DVDs are in Roanoke. Boo.
I have been to NYC, that’s why I have an opinion.
Yeah, I remember that now.
It’s definitely not for everybody.
