I’ve sent out emails trying to get people to test with me as I’m working on beefing up the portrait section of my new website. As it turns out, I don’t know too many people around here so if you’re reading this and live anywhere near the Roanoke Valley and are up for a fun photo session, let’s talk. And if you don’t live anywhere near the Roanoke Valley and would like to fly me out to where you are for a fun photo session, let’s talk even more.

A lot of my favorite photographers are self-portrait artists which I think is weird but great at the same time. It’s easier to shoot yourself because you know exactly what you’re looking for in a photo. The only thing about it is when you’re doing self-portraits anywhere other than your home people will think you’re really weird. Or narcissistic. Which I’m not. I’m just bored and needed some new images to play with. I miss my group of girlfriends (I prefer to photograph women) and none of them live remotely near me. So come visit, dear friends! And let us enjoy a photographic feast!

Heidi from iloveyoucards.org started to spread some love with…well, love. I received a free stack of 20 cards many many moons ago, (that’s what I’m holding in the first photo) however, I never gave any away or brightened anyone’s day with one. Today I stuck them in my lady bag and plan on getting rid of them. I’ve recently revisited the site and noticed that she’s now asking for a small donation of $5 per every order of 20 cards which in my opinion is a small price to pay to brighten up 20 different people’s days. You can even custom order them in a foreign language! They’re very pretty, high quality and eye-catchingly-pink. Visit the website to see and read experiences.

*** UPDATE ***

I cut one of the I Love You cards to fit in the name slot thingie that’s on the front of my apartment door. That way everyone who stops by is greeted with a happy warm feeling before I even answer it. Even if they don’t, I think the hot pink is lovely against the navy blue door.
