Second day at my new job and I spent the last couple hours of work on a boat ride at the lake. Not working. With my awesome coworkers. I think I could get used to this :) More iphone snapshots on flickr.

it’s so weird to see someone in the blogging world blogging about things i am so familiar with! i’ve heard about smith mountain lake all my life, rich friends and acquaintances having houses there. i’ve been there a few times, but have never actually been ON the lake.
and then you mention roanoke quite a lot (which is only an hour away from me. i live in a small city and either roanoke or greensboro are THE closest places to shop). anyway, it’s weird and neat! and your job sounds quite perfect! is it a photography job?
That’s so funny–next time you’re in Roanoke, let me know and maybe we can get some coffee together! I’ve been through the lake a few times as well and my first time on it was yesterday…it’s beautiful…and the houses are AMAZING. I could only dream to afford a place there.
My new job really is quite perfect for me. It’s not solely a photography job but photography is definitely part of it. I’m a news designer for The Smith Mountain Lake section of The Roanoke Times and Laker magazine so I get to shoot photos for stories and do design work. My office is actually at the lake so I get to take a scenic drive every morning. It’s pretty nice :)
well congrats on the job! you’re very lucky to have a job in your chosen field, which i’m sure you realize :)
i’d love to meet for coffee! i’ll admit it’s a little weird because i’ll be meeting you for the first time even though i feel like i already kind of know you from your blog and your flickr. i’m probably going to feel like a stalker, if that makes sense. anyway, yes we should do that sometime :)
