Our friends got married yesterday at one of the most beautiful venues with a lake and mountains as the backdrop. Carrie, the gorgeous, crafty bride, made the centerpieces, sewed the table clothes, made the decorations and it was all really personalized, which to me, made everything more meaningful. Some weddings end up being a show, or for the parents, or for other reasons which is totally fine because sometimes it’s the only way to keep the peace, but Carrie and Jake’s wedding was incredibly simple and sweet in the best way possible—the most important aspect was witnessing their proclamation of commitment to each other and you could totally feel the love. It was really really really hot yesterday but luckily there was a little beach access point to the lake. A few of us stuck our feet in. Others jumped right in.
