I’ve been dreaming about the beach…crystal clear/blue waters, sandbars that stretch out to forever, white sand, salty sea breeze, fresh seafood and delicious frozen tropical drinks. I had the latter at dinner last night but it’s just not the same without an ocean view.
We’re fortunate enough to have access to a pool in our apartment community but unfortunately this will be the last year of that since we’re looking to move this fall. Last night we made the purchase of a reusable underwater camera that I am excited to play with. I have lots of ideas for it. And we used a different disposable underwater cam yesterday that I shot through really quickly only to regret my rapid-fire-shutter-release-finger ’cause the pool started to get crowded and I saw lots of other scenes I wished I could capture. I blame digital photography for my newfound impatience.
A few months ago we visited our friends in Ohio and I’ve just finally been able to get around to posting photos. This one of the sea anemone is one of my favorites and was taken at the Toledo Zoo. I love aquariums. Our friend Kyle is terrified of them. He was our host and tour guide when we went to the zoo and patiently waited outside of the aquarium while Jeff and I tried to run around as quickly as possible to see as much as we could before the zoo closed. Kyle is also afraid of the Statue of Liberty. But that’s a whole ‘nother story :)
Hoping to post the underwater photos soon. Meanwhile, check out these AMAZING images by Australian photographer, Alex Tipple of swimmers and surfers underwater as the waves are breaking. Seriously. Click on the link. You won’t regret it.
Side-note: anyone been on a cruise? Can you feel the motions of the waves very easily?
