Our friends Chris and Lisa got a new puppy. She weighs only 9 oz, is a pomapoo and looks like a wooly worm when she walks.
Oh and she still needs a name … if you have any suggestions, I’ll pass them along :)
In the words of the little girl in Despicable Me, “it’s sooooooo fluffy!!!“

My new favorite side dish, orzo with grape tomatoes tossed in zesty Italian dressing on top of mixed greens. I got the idea from a meal at The Judge’s Chambers.

We made it home in one piece. But not without incident.
The weather in Ohio got pretty bad a few hours into our drive home and Jeff and I ended up hitting a slick spot and spun (not slide, but spun) from the far left lane of the Interstate across two more lanes and finally stopped when the back of our car hit the ditch of an on-ramp. We did a 220 (I think that’s the degree we decided). Luckily no one was around us when it happened and there wasn’t a single scratch on us or the car. I was on the phone with our friend Patrick who was ahead of us by 20 miles telling me how much better the weather was there and I’m sure I freaked him out too when in the middle of our conversation I started yelling sh*t, sh*t, sh*t several times. It happened so fast that I can barely visualize now what had happened, but needless to say, we were both shaken up and grateful the rest of the way home. The situation could’ve been horrible had there been other cars involved.
After trying to rock the car out of the ditch, which had one back wheel off the ground and the two front ones dug in the mud, a man in a green Jeep Grand Cherokee came down the on-ramp, backed up and pulled us out with a heavy duty chain he had. Once that happened, we were facing the wrong way on the on-ramp so Jeff had to maneuver a 360 on the ramp without sliding off or you know, getting hit by any cars coming down (luckily no one was coming), but before we could even get the car turned around, we look over and another car had spun into the ditch about 50 ft away from where we initially landed. The kind gentleman who helped us helped the other car as well. And to top it off, after the snow we drove into rain which then caused us to hydroplane numerous times. I couldn’t even look out the window to watch our drive for a while because every little shifty movement, brake light I saw or jerk of the wheel had me terrified. We drove in silence for quite some time.
But like I said, we are totally okay and eternally grateful for the kindness of strangers.
